Radio Flyer Wagon Centerpiece

Sometimes when I get ideas they don't work.  Surprise!

I wanted to take the wheels off this old wagon and use them on a willow coffee table so I could roll it out of the way to vacuum.  And because I thought it would look cool.

The wheels are rubber.  And if you push hard on black rubber it makes black marks.  And the carpet is some shade of white wool.  So no wagon wheels because I have enough marks on whatever that white shade of wool carpet is.

Tell me... what is that silhouette riding in that wagon?
A bear?  Frumpy middle aged woman?  Someone wearing a gas mask?
Sure doesn't look like a little kid to me.
And is it just me, or does the handle part look like someone watering the lawn?

The wheels might not have worked, but I had a perfectly good (in a junk sort of way) wagon top to use. Brawn attached the brackets from the bottom of the wagon to the inside and put a silver pipe carrying handle on it, to turn it into a wagon tote.  It showed up on the table just in time to decorate for Christmas.

Ball canning jars with twine, and the left over junk from my Christmas bins fill the wagon because I couldn't find my big bag of pine cones.  It will turn up for Easter I'm sure.  For safety, dollar store battery candles top the batting stuffed jars that mimic snow, and for only the $1.00 cost of those candles I have a unique centerpiece that glows softly.  In a big sort of way.... it's size is 36"x17".

Seriously what is that logo *thing* riding in the wagon?  It has booobs!
(Typo on purpose so people that google that word won't find my blog)

  4. WTH is that thing? I vote for an alien. An alien chasing all of humankind in a wagon. Makes perfect sense to me.

  8. How did I never notice that weird logo? Now that you say something, I'm pretty sure it is a middle-aged woman, but why is she holding a water hose? The centerpiece is so junky-chic. I love it.

  12. I saw one at teh curb down the street this Summer. I made Austin go get it for me. hahaha. Sometimes, they are so handy. The kids that is. My intention was to pill it with pumpkins. But you know how I like to put things off.

Looks marvelous. Handle. Great idea!! It's been BLISSED :)

  13. What is WRONG with you people?! It's quite obvious to me that the silhouette is Androgynous Pat (Saturday Night Live) as a child! Isn't he/she just adorable?!

Your new red tote is lovely on your coffee table, and I'm glad you used battery candles. Those jars can get hot!!!

  14. Who would have thought to put a handle on it? Only you, Bliss! I saw one of these recently with the wheels off and a sleeping cow in it. It was beautiful, but at $75.00, it wasn't coming home with me! Why don't you want to be bloggy friends with someone googling booobs?!!

  17. If the cart was advertising lemonade, the logo would be perfect, because it looks like a 'lemon head' to me, though it is definitely a big booooobied lemon head !
    Perfectly bliss-ful centrepiece Mrs. B.

I never noticed the boobies on the radio flyer thing. Now that is all I will ever see! Giant boobies and racing wagons. Somehow that does not seem like a good combination....

This is a great idea - I have a few old wagon beds lying around in the shop. We are using one as a boot tray by the door but never thought to use one for a centerpiece. I may have to go fish another one out today.

  20. Why wasn't there an old radio flyer in my mom in laws attic?!!

And yes, I do believe that is a kid in a gas mask getting ready to go to an air raid shelter - the good old days.

And I've never heard of a three ooo'd boob - but hey, maybe all that exposure to the chemicals from the bug sprayer from back in the day created a mutant gene.

  21. Well, I LOVE how the wagon turned out! I'm thinking the logo is missing a few bits: The older sibling that pushed the kid in the wagon down a hill... also missing is the rock the wagon just hit, therefore propelling the wagon rider forward and, as pictured, thus impaling himself with the wagon handle. :) Being the mother of six I thought this would have jumped out at you. hee hee I think the boooobs (hockey gear) and helmet can be attributed to some small attempt made at safety. :D

  22. What a creative idea! I love the way this turned out for sure!

  23. Yeah, what is that logo thing watering the lawn? I never noticed it before. This tote is totes cute!! It's so cute and Christmasey, I just want to tote it away! I'm sure you'll be making pine cone bunnies at Easter or something else equally creative and totes adorbs!

  26. Yes - I do love the handle! Too bad the wheels didn't work on that cool coffee table, but the whole centerpiece thing turned out great. Maybe that is Ziggy's mom.

  27. What a cute idea! I love it! I'm assuming that is supposed to be a child sitting in the wagon, but don't really know. What else could it possibly be? Maybe their interpretation of a young child is different than ours. LOL!
