Four Vintage Crates From One

Last year about this time Karianne had a coffee crate in her attic waiting for a redo - and in her post she cut the thing in half to make two crates.

I thought, HEY that's pretty smart, that way both crate ends can be turned into something. 

So I tucked that idea in the back of my mind till it was time for me to do the same.

I had a crate in my possession, only it had a design on all four sides, which meant I could turn one crate into four crates.

The crate may have been in my possession, but it wasn't mine. 

#1 daughter picked it up on one of our hunts at the local occasional shops for her laundry room redo that we had gifted to her for Christmas of 2013.

I have mentioned before if I offer a room redo to you as a gift, be prepared to wait a couple years.

However one thing can be crossed off the list - turning one crate into four to sit on her laundry room shelves.

I didn't have a before photo other than this one from a (non sponsored) sandal review last year.

The crate was taken apart carefully so as to use the original sides and bottom.

You can see the raw edges in the photo above, which I stained a similar color to the fronts, along with any new wood that was added.

The small crates are 9 1/2 inches long, 6 inches tall and 8 inches deep.

The larger end pieces made crates that measure 15 1/2 inches long, 6 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches deep.

One of the small ones is just the right size for a little laundry room stain kit perhaps?
