And I like pizza. A lot.
Pizza is the kind of food that even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.
Basically I've never had a pizza I didn't find palatable.
In Las Vegas you would never run out of places to eat. You could however run out of money doing it, so we looked for a few places that had good reviews and reasonable prices.
My trusty phone stealthily took photos of my surroundings and I felt like one of those undercover food spy's.
800 Degrees Pizza is a restaurant with a concept like Chipotle. People are on the side with the ingredients, you tell them what you want from the other side of the counter, and they make it for you.
In this case that means the dough started as a ball and the dough boy tossed it to the right size.
The menu boards give you instructions as well as your choices, or you can choose one of their specialty pizzas.
It's called Neapolitan style pizza and 800 Degrees started in Los Angeles. It bakes in an 800 degree oven, hence the name, and it only takes a few minutes.
I liked this block wall painted with pizza signs and the wood surround classed it up. All in all the atmosphere was casual, but upscale.
We split what they call an individual size and while we weren't stuffed it was plenty filling for the two of us, two would of been too much.
For pizza and a beer it was $21 bucks - I think the beer was $7.00 of that. A pretty good price for the Las Vegas Strip.
The restaurant was located a couple doors down from our hotel, and I noticed when we got back that our hotel had Sicilian style pizza.
As for the taste........ like I said I've never met a pizza I didn't like. Was it my favorite in all the world? Probably not, but there was nothing wrong with it.
I prefer my pizza extra cheesy and I think I would of liked the center of the pie to have been cooked a little more, it was slightly doughy which made it hard to pick up to eat.
That could just be the style of Neapolitan pizza, I don't know. It wasn't anything that a fork couldn't solve.
Would I go there again? Maybe. There are other pizza places I'd like to also try but I wouldn't say no if you wanted to treat me.
I ate a similar style pizza place yesterday. It's called Blaze Pizza - believe it's a nation-wide chain, but not every state has a location. Was pretty good and really reasonably priced!

I need that pizza, devil woman.
ReplyDeletePizza is DLs favorite food. I don't eat it--I just slap it onto the top of my thighs which is where it will end up eventually. Saves me from having to chew.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty tasty, but I'm from Chicago....give me deep dish!
ReplyDeleteWell it LOOKS delish! Pizza lovers unite!

Oddly, my buffet is still the picture on my blogroll under Bliss Ranch, even though you've written two posts since then !?!
ReplyDeletePizza, I don't eat it much but now you're making me hungry and it's gotta be well cooked in the middle, no soggy bits and pesto sound yummy.
Friends have just been in New York, they said they had an amazing pizza at Grimaldi's !
