The company boasts discount lighting and cheap lamps for sale, and I've got a few spots I wouldn't mind updating with a new light style, particularly with inexpensive vintage lights.
I began looking over the Parrot Uncle web catalog, making note of the ones I liked, and then thinking about where, if anyplace, I could incorporate that style as an update in our house.
I'm fond of the cage style lights that are popular right now. Sort of rustic, industrial and vintage all at the same time, and the Parrot Uncle prices are reasonable for discount hanging lights.
I would be needing two of whatever light I end up choosing.
I guess when we built this house I was channeling my inner Noah because it seems most lights marched on-board in pairs.
I also like simple glass pendant lights, especially if they resemble the popular cut jar or bottle look.
Ceiling fans that have that cage style light hanging underneath them are pretty nice, but achieving that look with both a new ceiling fan and the light can be a pricey upgrade.
Our fans do really need an update - mostly an update from all the dust that surely lives on the top of them!
The light below is probably one of my favorites.
Does it look nautical to you or if it was turned upside down does it remind you of the spotlights in the sky at an old Hollywood premier?
They also offer free shipping and a pretty good selection of sale items to pick from.
So what one do you think I chose?
I'll give you a hint.... it marched two by two into my ark.

ooh maybe the sconce? i love that last one though! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL- I love the old ones that look like Edison lights. I saw someone else had a giveaway on them last week on her blog. Fun! I had never heard of the company before. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of buzz about this company all over blogland and really like their prices and selection. Can't wait to see what you chose!
ReplyDeleteWhatever you selected, I"m sure I'll want them. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteAll good choices! I'll give you my two cents on cage lamps and edison bulbs- very glare-y. I love the look but I have removed the ones I bought because they literally just really hurt my eyes. So with that said, I hope you picked the Hollywood premiere upside down spotlight. You are a California girl, after all.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kelly, my guess is the sconces but I too really like the spotlight style last one.
ReplyDeleteI go for number two. Need two of them to go over our double sink in the master bath.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess the cagey ones from your hints. I love them all, but I appreciate your descriptions, they gave me a giggle.
ReplyDeleteThese are all great choices...looking forward to seeing what you chose and how you used them!
ReplyDeleteAre ya gonna sing "You Light Up My Life" to Brawn as he installs the new fixtures? I really think he'd deserve that :D OBTW - Parrot Uncle has some great deals on those battery candles.
ReplyDeleteWell you didn't tell us whether you needed sconces or hanging. So how are we supposed to get it right? And you didn't tell us where they are going - which would also be helpful... so I'll just say that you'll pick your favorite.
