Today I'm going to tell you about a brand new business here in the state of Minnesota called Chins Up, but of course you don't have to live in Minnesota to order, we do have UPS and Fedex in the frozen North.
I may have missed small business Saturday and cyber Monday, but in my book shopping with small businesses is always a good idea.
And ....shopping from a business that gives a little back to veterans while still keeping some jingle for feeding their own families, well that's a no brainer for me.
And and and ....shopping a sale is good for you and for feeding your own family, right? (But I've also got a giveaway at the end.....bonus!)

First of all, go like the Chins Up Facebook page {HERE} so you will remember it and then you can support it. #worthit
Since they are brand new their stock and shirt designs are being added as production and inspiration happens, so if you give 'em a like you can keep up with whats new. I know this for a fact, and I know the owners personally.
So what does Chins Up mean?
It was inspired by the famous painting by Emanuel Leutze, of George Washington crossing the Delaware. Don't know about George Washington crossing the Delaware? First, go back to school, second Google it, third, quit reading now.
I guess the two Marine's that started this business noticed Washington's chin, or it could be the military term "chins up, chests out, shoulders back, stomachs in" being at attention with the US military telling the world bring it on, we are ready for you.
Whatever it is, it is rooted in pride.
These guys know the importance of giving back, of sacrifice, so for every shirt you purchase, they make a donation to the organizations below. You can feel good about that purchase, wear a little pride on your sleeve (literally!), and you get a cool shirt out of it.
From the chins up web page....
"We understand that America's greatest resource is the men and women
that write the blank check to serve in the military. So to show our
respect and gratitude, we will be giving back a portion of the proceeds
to two great organizations that serve America's Warriors: Reuniting After War (RAW) and The Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (The FEW).We also have partnered with LockLeed International, a Veteran exclusive placement agency, who facilitate relationships with candidates (veterans) and employers.
Chins Up isn't exactly politically correct, but they aren't offensive either. Just a straight no bull-schmidt approach to their designs. I find a few of them humorous, or maybe ironic is a better word. Clever? Tongue in cheek? All of the above, I just get it.
Coming together as one, as Americans, instead of focusing on our differences. If you live in the USA we are all in it together no matter political views, religion, whatever. If you want to find things that separate us, you go right ahead, but for me I won't focus on that, it brings me down and makes me sad, and I don't have time for that.
The Chins Up motto is "be bold".
T-shirt design, Chins Up |
Before I continue, I've gotta tell you about something cool on their web site. The photos appear in black and white, but as you move your cursor across them they show up in color. I think that's fun, and I also noticed one guy in a photo has a pink respirator on, his wife must be the DIY expert in the family.
Anyhow, there are TWO perks for reading today. The first is their sale......
Till Christmas get 20% off. Everything.
The discount will be deducted automatically in your Chins Up cart. The prices are already good for quality, made in America apparel, so gift your favorite American a shirt to wear.
Then, just for Bliss Ranch readers, Chins Up is giving away one of their most popular designs - made right here in the United States of America - the NOT made in China t-shirt!
