Glass Globe Pumpkins

Fall.  I  love  it.  Not just a little,  a lot.  

I don't usually start to decorate till October, and when I do it normally has a spooky twist.

As soon as I saw the inspiration photo I knew I was going to make some of these glass pumpkins.

You can find my inspiration over at the HomewardFound blog where Deb took some white glass light globes, added lights, and made her awesome pumpkins.

And I loved them.

I picked up the crackle globes at a garage sale and 3 were turned into hanging candle holders on the dresser bar redo.  That left 2 for pumpkins.

Then I found this very heavy round dish to make it an even three.  

Three's not even.  Ah ha ha ha ha ha.

On top I hot glued branches and a piece of mulch, some of that dried stuff whatever it's called, twisted some twisty twine, put lights inside, and presto changeo I have three glass pumpkin lights.  

And I love them.

So why stop right?  I was on a roll. I stayed in jammies all day and made stuff.

13 dryer vent pumpkins.  7 orange, and 6 white.  Dove White spray paint in case you need to know.

And I love these too.  

But the orange ones maybe not so much.  Two of my kids asked why the pumpkins were red.  They didn't appreciate the color orange I got.  So I might redo the faux orange ones.

 Speaking of pumpkins, this week when I was running errands I had my camera along because it had been left in the car over the weekend.  So I took my time on my way home and I'm gonna show you some pictures from my neck of the woods.  I think it's God's country, at this time of year anyway.  In January I have other words for it.

If you stopped over my place and wanted to find a pumpkin patch, I could easily take you to about a dozen.  They are everywhere.  But I didn't see any white pumpkins.

There are barns everywhere too.  I decided what makes a good barn is the chippy old boards.  And the more it looks like it's about to fall down the more I like it.  It could potentially be free craft wood.

I couldn't get these horses to pose for me. I wanted them to look at the camera.  The horse on the left told me what he thought of that idea.  If you go by on the weekend this place is hosting polo.  When you come visit we could go there, but even closer to my house, like 5 miles away is this......

 A winery.  You'd rather have wine than watch polo right?  Minnesota has lots of wineries and we have several close to us.  We've also got breweries but they aren't down the road.  Sorry Kirby.

We have apple orchards.  So many close by I can't count them.  Have you had a sweet tango apple?  Many cold weather varieties were born right here at the University of Minnesota.  They know cold, and they know apples.

And they know cows.  We've got plenty of these too.

I have to write a sentence or two here because I don't want the *Bliss* signature directly under the cow.  I am not this cow.  But if I keep making all the amazing recipes I've been pinning, it won't be long.
