Fall. I love it. Not just a little, a lot.
As soon as I saw the inspiration photo I knew I was going to make some of these glass pumpkins.
You can find my inspiration over at the HomewardFound blog where Deb took some white glass light globes, added lights, and made her awesome pumpkins.
And I loved them.
I picked up the crackle globes at a garage sale and 3 were turned into hanging candle holders on the dresser bar redo. That left 2 for pumpkins.
Then I found this very heavy round dish to make it an even three.
Three's not even. Ah ha ha ha ha ha.
On top I hot glued branches and a piece of mulch, some of that dried stuff
whatever it's called, twisted some twisty twine, put lights inside, and presto changeo I have three
glass pumpkin lights.
And I love them.
So why stop right? I was on a roll. I stayed in jammies all day and made stuff.
13 dryer vent pumpkins. 7 orange, and 6 white. Dove White spray paint in case you need to know.
And I love these too.
But the orange ones maybe not so much. Two of my kids asked why the pumpkins were red. They didn't appreciate the color orange I got. So I might redo the faux orange ones.
I couldn't get these horses to pose for me. I wanted them to look at the camera. The horse on the left told me what he thought of that idea. If you go by on the weekend this place is hosting polo. When you come visit we could go there, but even closer to my house, like 5 miles away is this......
And they know cows. We've got plenty of these too.
I have to write a sentence or two here because I don't want the *Bliss* signature directly under the cow. I am not this cow. But if I keep making all the amazing recipes I've been pinning, it won't be long.

ReplyDeleteLove the pumpkins but I love the pictures even more. When I come for a visit can we pleeeeaaaasssseee visit the horses! I love horses...maybe that's what I need on this farm....like I have so much time to devote to a horse. LOL.

Those are amazing!! Love the glass globe idea...those are everywhere in thrift stores and such!! Your talent knows no bounds!
ReplyDeleteCute idea on the pumpkins. And love your last statement under the cow picture. Funny stuff. That humongous barn is quite lovely, by the way!
ReplyDeleteOh my...I always leave here with a smile on my face you silly cow :). Love the glass pumpkins and the dryer vent pumpkins. And, I love seeing a little of MN through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteDid I spell humongous wrong? Is it humungous? I don't know. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere in the depths of my garage are some glass globes.
ReplyDeleteNow I have another obsession !
I love to stay in my gown all day doing stuff.
It is one of life's greatest blessings.

Oh Lawd I love these pumpkins. And wine will do just fine! (I really like the dryer vent thing. Also--Can I have permission to use your scarecrow photo for a challenge in October? I will link back to you so that you can get even more popular!
ReplyDeleteJust when I thought I was done primping pumpkins you go and post those adorable glass ones! I love them!! Now I'll be on the hunt for some glass globes.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in the country all my life and I have to say, I now feel like I have taken all the beautiful scenery around me for granted. The beautiful pictures that you posted is what I see just about every day! Thanks Bliss, I will not fuss at Charlie anymore for taking the scenic routes...he will love you for this!! Enjoy your day, Gail
I LOVE your pumpkins Bliss!!! I want to spend the day in my jammies and make some too.... Did you buy the dryer vent stuff at Home Depot? then spray paint it? Tell me more, tell me more! I love them~
ReplyDeleteSusan
I'm going to follow your advice and not decorate until October. :)
ReplyDeleteThe photos are gorgeous! A winery you say...I'll be over!! I've never had that kind of apple...sounds amazing. I love this time of year!!
Your pumpkins are adorable, but your countryside is heavenly!!! I'm hoping to get out this weekend and enjoy the color before the leaves are gone and you-know-what is here. How lucky you are to have orchards, vineyards, and livestock right in your neighborhood!! Looking forward to the photos.
ReplyDeleteGet out! I love your glass pumpkins...pure fabulousness!
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins are great ... I'm digging that dryer vent variety. I even have a crow ready to be perched on top!
ReplyDeleteAnd no one would ever mistake you for that cow ... even though you do have one on your sidebar art who is giving me the evil eye as I type this. She's making me nervous. Like she's saying "are you SURE you really want to say that?" ...
:)
Linda
Love all the pumpkins...so darn cute and so easy. I like simple crafts..so simple that I can finish them. Love the dryer vent one...too cute.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing where you 'live', beautiful country, love to meet you at the winery...someday.
Beautiful photographs! And I love your glass pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the photos of your area. Beautiful. Love that barn! And the pumpkins you made are pretty sweet too!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, Bliss! Minnesota IS beautiful isn't it? Love your pumpkins...I've done nothing for fall except some mums outside and some Chinese lanterns in the house...oh well, luckily autumn has a way of decorating things for me lol!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that last line! I don't decorate for Fall 'cuz I'm not partial to the fall colors, but these pumpkins...in glass..and white...yeah, could so do those! Oh, and nice place ya got there!
ReplyDeleteJammies, glass pumpkins and THE COUNTRY..... all <3!
ReplyDeleteAnd even 3: <3 <3 <3!
Cute glass pumpkins. It makes me want to go around the house looking for glass shades and turning them into pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteYour neighborhood area is beautiful!!!
Dee
Haha!! Mooooooooo!! Love all the pumpkins you made. So creative and unique :)
ReplyDeleteLol, what a fun post! What a beautiful place you live in... no wonder it's "bliss"! Love the glass globe pumpkins...inspired!
ReplyDeletexo Heidi
Your pumpkins turned out nice! I have never seen one made out of dryer vent before. This is a first! Looks like you live in a beautiful area. I love the country! I live in a semi rural area. It has grown alot since we moved here. It was like living in the sticks when we moved to this area in 1989. No more though. They just built a McDonalds a couple of miles down the road from my subdivision! I would prefer a beautiful winery like you have.
ReplyDeleteI can't stop gufawing. Oh, I would have totally stuck my name under that Cow's butt without realizing it.
ReplyDeleteYou're a smart cookie...
I love those glass globes made into pumpkins. Awesome! You live in a beautiful area. The vinyards remind me of Napa, California, one of my favorite areas. I agree with you. The more weathered the barn the better it looks.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that most of Minnesota is God's country, there are so many beautiful and mysterious back roads to travel. I love the cow, she is a beaut! I pass a pasture of horses and one of cows each day on my way to & from work in the metro area and their antics never cease to amaze me. One day I saw a grown-up cow drinking from the udder of another grown-up cow...must have been reallllly thirsty? And then there is "Smiley" in the horse pasture. He/she has a coat pattern that looks like a smiley face. Oh the simple things that bring us pleasure :-)
ReplyDeletelove the glass globes..but Riding down the country road with you was so fun thank you
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkins are so cool. I want some. I love the combination of glass and rough wood stem.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun road trip too! Great pictures,
Deb@LakeGirlPaints
So uber cool Bliss! I LOVE Fall too,but you already know that. You did such a cute job on your pumpkins. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBliss - I stumbled upon your blog from a comment you had left on http://www.homestoriesatoz.com and I am so glad I did. :) Your glass globe pumpkins are adorable! I love how they turned out!! Your pictures of Minnesota or beautiful too...you are so lucky to live in such a pretty part of the country!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings - Sara
OHHHHH your photos are breathtaking! Especially love the barn and cow - I could make them into canvases and hang them on my wall. :) Sorry, I know this was about your pumpkins - love them too!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like we live next door. I wish, right? Beautiful pics - and love those pumpkins. Cutest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to post some of my fall pics from my travel of late, got to love the states up north....thanks for a fun posting and great pictures of Minn. yummy
ReplyDeleteLoving the pumpkins that light up and the air vent ones - inspired !
ReplyDeleteYou do indeed live in a beautiful place and you'd NEVER look like the cow, not even if your pyjamas were black and white, but I love the way the plants make the cow look like she has lacy feet !
BAHAHA. Cracking up at the way you ended this post. Love the pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI saw those globe pumpkins and have been dying to make my own - just gotta find the globes! Love your crackle version!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe if you visited me here in NJ, I could take you to tons of farms, apple orchards, pick your own pumpkin farms ... it is the Garden State.
Who knows, we may even spot Snooki in the pumpkin patch!
Kelly
I am in love with the glass pumpkins and your countryside so I've just decided I'll have to move in with ya. I want the room with the Kodak dresser, too, by the way.
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously though, I'm pinning those pumpkins.
What did you say your address is? ;)
Thanks so much for linking up at I Gotta Create! <3 Christina
Oh I love your blingy sparkly pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteHmm Minnesota in the Fall I can definitely do, it's just beautiful...the Winter err not so much.
Do you have an extra room?
ReplyDeleteand an extra pumpkin?
Love the photos, the dryer vent punkins... and those GLASS ones. Isn't staying in your jams and crafting the best!!
Your neck of the woods looks an awful lot like mine. And I love it here too. We have a pumpkin patch just around the corner from our house that I really need to get the little one over to.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm off to go find me some glass globes because those are killer!
You have such great eye candy photos on your blog. I love looking at them.
ReplyDeleteThat's really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese are really pretty! Love the little touches that you made. Thank you so much for sharing these at Happy Hour!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your pumpkins...especially those glass ones! So clever :) And I also love how you see "free" craft wood in old barns...me too!! Beautiful photos, like always :) Laurel
ReplyDeleteawesome post!!!! love love love the pumpkins! thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by...yep -- it's a spaetzle maker -- it works awesome -- if i have it too often i will be getting into that cow area too : ) LOL!!!!! hugs...
ReplyDeleteCool post, and I totally get not wanting your name under the cow! Oh that is funny.
ReplyDeleteoh my! I love the glass pumpkins. Think I'm gonna have to make some for my front porch!
ReplyDeleteI covet your glass globe pumpkins. I looked around my house tonight after we chatted for some stuff to make them out of...the only thing that came close to being the right shape was an old fish bowl. Yeah, I didn't think so either. I'm going to have a look around the hardware store tomorrow. I also kinda like the cow. But if I got one of those, my neighbors here in Stepford would call the police. Will you adopt me? I'll bake sweets? xo
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. I just want to know....why do you find crackled glass globes and all I find are Hooter's t-shirts! This is such a great idea and I am totally pinning it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day rock star!
karianne

ReplyDeleteI know this is a 2012 project but I don't care. It's gorgeous and is being featured in Party Junk this weekend... cuz I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteSure is pretty round the Bliss Ranch. Only thing prettier would be to hang bunches of those glass pumpkins all over your county and then waiting til nightfall!!
