Me.... I'm sending off an authentic Guatemalan coffee sack, minus the coffee beans.
This type of bean bag is rustic. There are imperfections since it is intended to be an actual working coffee sack.
The bag has graphics on both sides, green on the back, black on the front and measures 28" wide by almost 39" long. A nice size to craft into something for your own thrifty style.
I've used these sacks on a few projects around here. I have a Pinterest board of Sacks - burlap and otherwise - if you need a little inspiration.
Five years ago I tortured myself by attempting to sew coffee sack pillows.......
The nonuniform frayed edge look isn't for everyone, but I like them. Mostly because they didn't require a needle and thread.
I also added DIY enamel look pull tags to the shades that don't really pull down....
This spur of the moment free dresser that showed up on my porch and was a true trash to treasure redo, turned out unique for the son that has friends as close as family that live in Guatemala.
Son will be going soon to Guatemala for a wedding.
His trip to Guatemala means my Guatemalan coffee supply will be replenished when he returns home.
On my Pinterest sacks board you will find ideas for using coffee sacks to cover parts of chairs and footstools, sewing a sack into a Christmas stocking and stretching the sack out for use as a bulletin board.
Or if you have an extra 150 pounds of coffee beans that you don't know what to do with, they will fit in this sack.
The rustic sack is over 2 feet wide and about 3 feet long on one side - it's seamed on one edge and along the bottom.
Just as an FYI, I'd rather birth triplets than sew or cut burlap.
Here are the Thrifty Style Team Blogs
You can easily click over to enter on what they are offering up.
