October Thrifty Style Team Glass Light Globes

It's the October Thrifty Style Team, and I'm going to show you the glass globes I have that keep on going.

Or is that glowing?

Or globe-ing?

Whatever you wanna call 'em I have reused them four different ways -  not too bad for a thrifty find.

A few years ago I picked up some glass crackle globes from a light fixture at a garage sale.  I think there were six in all, but hellifiremember anymore.  I do know there were at least three.

I keep reinventing the globes, but no - none of my versions include a full bottle of Limon, although I wonder if there are medicinal properties in it, I do currently have a cold.

The globes first gig was as candle holders on top of a free dresser I turned into a patio bar.

Real candles, real glow.

That same year because I didn't want to store them in a safe break-free spot, I up-cycled them into October glowing gourds on our pine buffet in the dining room.

That inspiration came from on line and I gave them my own spin.

I have used white string lights as well as orange lights inside them, I like both equally.

Actually those glass globe pumpkins are one of my favorite fall decorations, the glow they put out at night is awesome and pumpkin-y.

Then because I still didn't want to find a safe spot where they wouldn't get broken, I used them again after Thanksgiving for the window display in our old building.

Snowmen heads.  You have to assemble the full snowman yourself, it's a DIY project I guess.

I also really liked those glowing noggins and I think I have concluded I pretty much like anything I can think up with those crackle globes.

At some point the crate they were in vanished, and so did a few of the globes.  I think my husband helped me put them away.  They could now be anywhere, like at the dump.

He doesn't always treasure my trash.

So last week when it was time to put the final touches to a brides table I used two of the globes and requested the others to be located.

That didn't happen, everyone got busy.

So only two globes with battery operated tea lights made an appearance, in front of the bride and groom, and two looked magical.

The globes have turned out to be thrifty decorating for all seasons.

If you see glass globes at Goodwill or in Thrift Stores, snap them up.

But find a safe place to store them if you can't find a way to reinvent them every month.

Photo blurred to protect the innocent.

I don't have any night time photos of how pretty the globes glowed.  I didn't pick up my camera after dark nor did I leave the dance floor.

And I've got a raw blister on my baby toe to prove I did dance all night.  I'm not gonna photograph that, you will have to take my word on it.
