Flowers By Bliss Ranch Daughters |
When I see a project I like from a fellow blogger that I actually think I can do.... I pin it to my "Stuff to Make" Pinterest board. I may never get around to all the stuff I've got pinned, but it's fun when I do one.
Like the above project from Jaime at Crafty Scrappy Happy.
When I read her post I thought HEY I can do that because I have the exact same stamps she used. I've had mine for about 13 years - purchased them for making baby announcements when #6 was born and probably haven't used them since.
Now I just had to come across something suitable for stamping on.
And if that something suitable happens to be a white tin pitcher similar to Jaime's well so be it.
I got out my stamps, (I really did, not sure why they aren't in the picture) and my Distress Ink stamp pad and thought about what to put on it.
I know everyone uses You Are My Sunshine for things, but it is a song close to my heart.
My dear daddy used to sing it all the time to my momma
and I can't hear it or see the words without thinking of him.
So...........
I also had another pitcher that I debated not painting because I sort of liked the faded rusty look it had, but I wanted the whites to match. I had one letter R from my first failed attempt at using letter stencils.
Both of the pitchers are in my kitchen window. I used one for some fresh lilacs last week, and the other is holding some paper flowers my daughters have been making.

The pitchers are really cute, but I really love those flowers your daughters made!
ReplyDeleteSo cute - and the flowers are adorable! Did you post a tutorial on them yet???
ReplyDeleteLove it! And I really like that rusty pitcher! And I love the flowers too!
ReplyDeleteHolly
Ohhhhh I love the story of the song and your dad and momma!! So precious that it brings tears to my eyes ~
ReplyDeleteThese are darling! I may have to hit up a friend of mine who has lots of stamps...
ReplyDeleteI sing "You Are My Sunshine" to my kiddos all the time. My little guy starts dancing and smiling whenever I sing it to him. My daughter thinks I should add a little beat boxing to the tune to make it more "hip". She is six. How "hip" can a six year old be? And I had no idea she even knew what beat boxing was - besides it would surely end with me spitting all over myself.
ReplyDeleteBut I digress....You should do a tute on the flowers - those are really fun. Haven't seen any like that around blogland. They are now officially pinned to my own "awesome projects to make" board.
#6? Wow. You say that so casually.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing!
Stacey of Embracing Change
Just darling...all of it. I too wish I could get to all my pinning inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing projects.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very very talented lady.
Have a great weekend!
Laura
PS
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are TO DIE FOR.
Laura
I love Jamie's stamp art too!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note- can I borrow your daughters? I need to make a 100% paper mantle for 52 Mantels (no idea why I said yes to this) and I've ben trying, really I have. But the 3 year old and 4.5 year old are really cramping my crafting:)

Really fun! Is that stamp pad waterproof?
ReplyDeleteOh I love those pitchers! Nice job! You should definetly do a tute on the flowers....they are very cool! Great post and great pictures too!
ReplyDeleteOh Bliss, these are GREAT! I used to sing that song to my John when he was little, but he had a duck raincoat and boots that he wore ALL THE TIME, even in the house, so I sang "You are my duck." I miss my babies. Now I have to go cry for twenty minutes. Followed by a shot of tequila. At 7:45 in the morning.
ReplyDeleteDang hormones.
Cute, cute, cute...I sang that to both of my "babies"...special memories!! Love your daughter's flowers...I've made many of those too, time consuming but oh so cute...great for your pitchers!! Chat soon, Laurel
ReplyDeleteI love that!! Oh gosh...it looks so happy now! And your pinwheels...your daughters have been passed on the talent gene. Go you!
ReplyDeleteHow did you stamp on rounded pitcher and get it so neat.
ReplyDeleteTiny little raised stamps. And Anonymous..... you should make an account so I can reply to you via email.

I love it! That is such a sweet little project. Hmmm...I know I have stamps from my scrapbooking days. I may just have to pull them out & copy you!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Now my mind is whirling about what I can do this on. Does that make sense? Horrible grammar but I'm on my first cup of coffee so please forgive me. :)
ReplyDeleteI so love those flowers too! Ask them if they'll make a few for me. LOL
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Pat
SO cute! How did we do anything before pinterest? Actually... how do we get anything done now that we have pinterest? (Really. I need to know.)
ReplyDeleteHi Bliss,
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty pitchers! Your daughters flowers are just the cutest!!!
Dee
I love it! And that is one of my favorite songs, too. I used to sing it to my children while I rocked them to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThat's lucky, I just bought some stamps - I can 'steal' another idea !
ReplyDeleteThe pitcher looks great, and I love those flowers. You should get your daughters to guest post a tutorial !
Those pitchers are so great! And the flowers...AWESOME! I have a "To-Do" board on pinterest that is getting very long but these are SO worth adding. Flowers I can't kill!! yay
ReplyDeleteCute pitcher Bliss and I love the flowers your girls made!
ReplyDeleteThey look fabulous! That's what I love so much about blogging, the sharing of great ideas. Now I'm going to have to pin YOU! (and the girls!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the anniversary wishes!
Hugs,
Patti
Okay, you taunt me with those Bliss Ranch daughter's book page (or newspaper?) flowers and then tempt me with the pitcher (which I adore, by the way) ...
ReplyDelete... and when will the Bliss Ranch Daughters show me how they made those amazing flowers? They are on my "to do" list to replace my cheesey fake flora and fauna (yep, I'm admitting that here and now ...)
:)
Linda
Sweet bouquet of flowers! I love that your dad sang that song to your mother. It's one of our youngest daughter's favorite songs, too.
ReplyDeleteLove it! If I can ever locate my alphabet stamps, I'm going to do that! I'm Pinning this!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Angie @ Knick of Time
so summery and FUN ... always fun to see something new and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI am with everyone else on this one ... Love the pitcher and the sweet memories of your parents. But also want to know when the tutorial is coming out on those adorable flowers! I think it will be the hottest trend like Boards and Batten! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Bj
Great job on the pitchers, and I love a project that is simple like this one.
ReplyDeleteMy sweet grandpa always used to sing that song to me. I can barely read your pitcher without getting misty. ;) Seriously, they're beautiful. Great job.
ReplyDeleteOh Bliss, I love your stamped pitcher. Our daughter sang this song when she was little and we talk about it all the time. Maybe I can get her to make one for her dad - he was talking about it the other day. Thanks for the idea. Did you use individual letter stamps? And are they permanent on the pitcher? Love the paper flowers too! I have paper like that. Do you have the tutorial for them? So many questions - sorry, but you got me all excited!
ReplyDeleteI love them, and the thought of your dad singing to your mom makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteyea, I wonder if all those young chicks that use you are my sunshine even know the tune, or all the words for that matter! This looks wonderful. You know I went to Debbie's newbie party when I first started blogging. Somehow I got the idea that you could only link up two times so I quit going after I used up my allotment. I think I will go back one more time to celebrate my half-year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHow cute Bliss! It would have broke my heart to paint that rusty pitcher but it does look nice. Enjoy your evening, Gail
ReplyDeleteDon't you love a simple craft! Love your lyrics - what a nice memory!
ReplyDeleteAnd your daughters have some crafty talent like their mom!
Kelly

I am thinking I have so many projects in the works, and do you ever get in a rut...or yucky frame of mind and the stuff just is not getting done...looking at what you have done..brings me up. Take a look at my Blog, some work has been done and more to do...but looks so much better. Looking for advice and ideas...suggestions.
ReplyDeleteYour highchair you rocked fit for a prince and princess...ASCP is great,I love to paint but don't talk sewing, seriously allergic to a sewing machine.
I love You Are My Sunshine too. Great job on the pitcher. LOVE those flowers. Will they do a tute on them for us?
ReplyDeleteWell, I just think this is sweet as sweet can be Bliss. Thanks for sharing with the newbie party. I sure am going to miss you girl. I do believe you were here faithfully week after week. I thank you for that! I know how much you did get out of it, and the friends that you made...so keep on keeping out here!
ReplyDeleteWaaayyyy cool, Bliss! I pinned Jaime's project, too, and now you've inspired me to keep my eyes peeled for a simple white tin pitcher. Just sayin'... :)
ReplyDeletexo Heidi
fun and light and happy...
ReplyDeleteOh Bliss.....this is the exact project I wanted to make. I pinned it and I was going to make it. But you are one step ahead of me :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful project!
blessings,
karianne
Girl you make the coolest stuff. You have the talent for sure! Me? Thank you for sharing on the "Sunday Stop". Catch that raccoon who is skinny dipping in the kid pool? LOL That story was SO funny! Your the best!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joy
The pitcher looks great! I wouldn't have the patience or steady hand to stamp that whole song! Wow!!! Those flowers are amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly productive. I must get busy and make some of the things on my Pinterest to do board.
ReplyDeleteLove your pitchers!
So cute Bliss! I used to sing You Are My Sunshine to my kids. It always calmed my oldest down, no matter what. We sang it so often that I made up a couple extra verses to I didn't have to repeat so often. Then, when my son (the youngest) was about 4, he was sitting on the floor in the livingroom one morning sniffling and starting to cry. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that "You Are My Sunshine" makes him sad and didn't want me to sing it anymore. I asked him why and he said that he didn't want to be taken away from me like in the song! Awww...so sweet! Love those kids!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an adorable project. I need to create a board for projects I want to do around the house, and I also need to create one for art inspirations, or stuff that I want to paint! Excellent idea! RIght now I only have one pitiful board about home libraries. *sadface* My poor Pinterest account is so, so neglected!
ReplyDeleteBliss,
ReplyDeleteYou were featured on Joy2Journey ... stop by and check it out :) and of course I always love you to share what you have been up too! Hugs, and have a great weekend,
Bj
