Desserts From Pinterest - Two Winners

Like I do every time I start a post about food I must once again announce....

Bliss-Ranch Not A Food Blogger Graphic

If you are just joining me here at Bliss Ranch, what that means is I've cooked and baked more than my fair share, but when the food is done I want to get right to the tasting, and while you won't usually find me taking pretty photos of my grub, it doesn't mean I don't know how to cook.

Just in general the DIY that happens around here does not include blog recipes.

However.........

When I make a dish I found on line that ends up getting two thumbs up, I still like to share it with you.

It's always a risk making a recipe from the internet because it means I haven't tasted it somewhere in person.  I do end up trying a lot of duds, so when the food is lip smacking I'm pretty excited and I want to point you in the direction of the discovery.

I may not take the time to make beautiful foodie creations, or style my food,  but I do know my way around a fork.  There isn't much I don't like - as my thighs would attest too - and if you've tried any recipes off of Pinterest you are already aware many of them are not share worthy.

So when I stumble across one or two that are share worthy, I want to enlighten the world and sing the virtues of the food creator.

Such is the case with the two recipes in this post.

You won't find the recipe instructions here, they are not mine to take credit for, so if you want to check them out further you will have to click the link to the recipe creators, but let me tell you - they are worth the click.

The first recipe up is one I made last month.  If you are a cheesecake fan, you will love this, if not then skip it.

If you are a cinnamon roll fan you will love this, if not skip it.

If you are a cheesecake and cinnamon roll fan, after you groan in delight with your first bite you will start composing in your mind those words you will then use to enlighten the world and sing the virtues of the creator of the recipe..... like I did and am.

Lindsay from Life, Love and Sugar shared the recipe on her blog and since there are more than one cheesecake lover around the ranch I decided as a cinnamon lover I would give it a try.

It's now my favorite cheesecake.

Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake, Life, Love and Sugar

When you read Lindsay's blog post, she says not to worry about what seems a large amount of cinnamon.  I have to echo that, do not skimp on the cinnamon, do what she says.

If you don't like cinnamon,  don't cut back, just don't make it at all!

I followed her recipe to the letter.  If I were to change anything I might even add more cinnamon, but why mess with a good thing?

Stop over at Life, Love and Sugar and check the recipe out, pin it, and make it.  Everything you love about cheesecake and cinnamon rolls in one dessert, I kid you not, this is a most excellent cheesecake.

The next dessert I made just yesterday and it's gone.

Someone around here was having a birthday with an undisclosed amount of candles needed.

Mint seemed like the right flavor to celebrate with and this cake from Beyond Frosting was a little different than the Creme de Menth cake I already have in my arsenal.

This cake has a layer of pudding.

Now you might have already discovered what a great addition to a chocolate mint cake chocolate pudding is, but this was news to me and I wondered why I never thought of that!

Double Mint Chocolate Poke Cake, Beyond Frosting

Like Julianne says in her post, make this ahead and put it in the fridge.  The more chilled the better for letting the textures and flavors all mingle together.

The way the fudge topping and the pudding get inside of those poked holes is what determined that this will be the new favorite mint cake around my place.

A poke cake is more easily changed up than a cheesecake if you want to make it your own, and the die hard mint lovers around here declared it better than my usual mint cake.

And I gotta do what the voices tell me, so this double mint chocolate poke cake will replace my traditional Creme de Menth cake, and I'm ok with that for sure.

The only changes I made were to add some mint flavoring to the fudge topping part and I had a certain 5 and 8 year old add the candy topping - so my cake may have had a bit more sprinkled on top than the recipe called for.

That wasn't a problem, I promise!

Dated wood calendar upcycled to birthday calendar, Bliss-Ranch.com

August already brings three family birthdays, and within the next few weeks a fourth name sign will need to be added to the family birthday calendar that I upcycled last Fall, the new baby name is as of yet top secret.

That just means more cake every year right?

We are anxiously counting down the days.
