Even though the drawers are faux fronts, they needed knobs to lend some authenticity to it.
I used what I had, I didn't want to make any purchases to complete it.
What I had was a plastic ziplock of vintage thread.
I hated to do it, but the thread had to come off.
They were in no danger of being used on a sewing machine by me.
The tops have graphics deeply stamped with the brand and number of the thread color.
The spools were cut in half to make good use of lettering on both ends, being careful not to splinter and shatter them, which did happen to one.
I gave the sides of each spool a rub with a custom mix of metallic gold and copper.
They were attached to the fake drawer fronts with some brassy head screws that fit perfectly.
I was pleased with how the whole thing turned out, a perfect style toy box for our family room.
Next up - the details of the wood drawer fronts and the graphic I painted on the top.
